The UK Blueprint

From before the Arbitration Act 1697 the UK has historically taken the lead in developing international ADR. Many countries from around the world including Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia have already adopted these processes, and their prevalence continues to spread.

Most forms of contract used internationally started life in the UK as a FIDIC, NEC or other standard form. Having followed the development of these forms over the years, Alway Associates offer invaluable insight to international clients on the nuances and application of such contracts.

The UK also leads the way in professional development and regulatory bodies in construction. Prominent Institutes include the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, the Chartered Institute of Arbitration and the Chartered Institute of Builders, to name but a few, and many of our members are fellows of these organisations.

As a leader in the UK market, Alway Associates has now gained recognition internationally. As a result, we have been appointed to act for a number of international clients on high profile projects across the world, including Europe, the USA, South East Asia, the Far East and Australasia.

Our Approach

Alway Associates work effectively as team leaders, managing multi-disciplinary personnel, or as part of an existing team, to achieve overall objectives.

Our approach is to first devise a strategy to maximise existing resources, thereby making progress cost effective. We will then provide clear advice on the issues in hand, and take a pro-active role in seeking to establish an entitlement, or defeat a claim, as the case may be.

We recognise that dispute avoidance and prevention is the key to successful projects, but where disputes inevitably arise, we are adept in seeking solutions quickly. Our specialist team will resolve matters through the most suitable forum for a dispute, and if necessary, see matters all the way to Court.
