Diploma in Construction Economics from Dublin Institute of Technology (Bolton St), Bachelor of Science (Surveying) from Trinity College Dublin, Post Graduate Diploma in Construction Law and Contract Administration from Trinity College Dublin and a Master of Arts - MA from Trinity College Dublin Currently undertaking LLB at University of London (External Programme).

Profile

Maria Daly is a Senior Consultant specialising in Construction Law and has worked in the Construction Industry for 17 years. During this time Maria has worked in most sectors of the industry including Rail, Civil Engineering, Building and timber frame. Maria has spent the last 10 years working in Ireland but previously worked internationally in London, Hong Kong and Athens on projects ranging from the Jubilee Line in London to Chep Lap Kok airport Hong Kong and various projects in the Middle East from an Athens base for a Lebanese/English engineering consultancy company.

Maria has considerable experience in Main contract, Subcontract and Client dispute avoidance, management and resolution, in procurement and commercial management. Maria has advised on contentious and non contentious matters, contract vetting, procurement and administration systems. Maria has experience in a wide range of Conditions of Contract namely IEI, RIAI, FIDIC, ICE, Bespoke, Hong Kong Civil Eng, MTRC (Hong Kong), MF1, various IE Works contracts, RIAI/CIF and GDLA subcontracts, JCT 2005 UK (Suite of Contracts) to name a few and also in all aspects of Procurement including EU Public Procurement.

Due to Maria’s experience both in Ireland and internationally, Maria is able to use that practical knowledge and experience to provide realistic advice in regard to client’s problems and disputes.

Maria specialises in Construction Law, contract administration and dispute matters including provision of legal advice, vetting of contracts, management of representations for the Referring or Responding party in Adjudication and Conciliation, claim preparation including quantum and time analysis along with Quantity Surveying.
